President-  Kristen Maxey

 

            The great thing about a nursing career is you have endless opportunities to lead and to serve.  I attend Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, where I have served as SNA Vice President and will graduate in May with a BSN.  Before choosing my second career as a nurse, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from William Woods University and taught dance/performing arts and performed in various theatrical productions.  I love emergency and critical care nursing and hope to become a nurse practitioner or nurse navigator.  My family includes my husband, Craig, and ER physician (yes, it’s nice to have a talking textbook at my disposal!), my daughter, Lindsey, and my step-son, Andy, who is serving in the US Army Reserve and preparing for his first tour of duty to Iraq. It is a great privilege to be your MONSA President
